Remember When?

Reminiscences by Retired Teachers

Brian Holstein, former editor of Peelings

"D'ya remember when we . . ."
"What about the time we put . . . "
"I remember it like it was yesterday."
"When my parents told me that . . . "

How many times have we heard the above? How many times have we said those words: the precursor to an anecdote about "back then", or the "good old days"?

We are all saturated with stories of our past: when we were growing up; when we first started teaching; when we took that trip.

And we tell them.

They may be short tales or long, drawn out stories about those days of yore.

But how many times have we written them down?

We are all getting older. There will come a time when those stories are stilled, those memories lost, and that would be a pity.

Add your tale, or tales, to our Web site.

And to make it more interesting, why not include a photo of the young whipper-snapper featured in the piece.

So don't forget to remember.

"Runnin' for the Train"

by Brian Holstein is about some kid in Australia and his adventures travelling to and from high school.
